Dear Customers of Plush Beauty Bar,
You may have heard that, in April 2012, the California Environmental Protection Agency conducted a sampling of 25 commonly-used nail products to determine whether the products' claims that they were free of the "toxic trio" were valid - e.g. free of dibutyl phthalate, toluene, and formaldehyde.
Of the 12 products that claimed to be "three-free", only two products were truly found to be clear of all three toxins.
Zoya professional nail lacquer was one that was found to be "three-free."
Plush Beauty Bar is proud to use and sell Zoya nail products, and has been a proactive supporter of the California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative since 2011, working to support the establishment of a healthy work environment for all nail salon workers.
It is also proud of its partnership with Hopscotch Kids, which has won acclaim for its "truly non-toxic" water-based polish but was not tested in this study.
From Zoya to Hopscotch to gel polish, top coats, and base coats, Plush thoroughly investigates every product it brings in the salon and will not use ANY product that is identified as toxic. Plush is committed to being a non-toxic salon.
Moreover, Plush has actively encouraged the California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative to establish a recognition program for Los Angeles-area salons to be certified as passing their high standards for worker and customer safety.
We invite you to read the full California EPA report, and to rest assured that Plush Beauty Bar will continue to work with all stakeholders to promote the development, use, and sale of products that do not injure our staff or the women, children, and men who use them.
Thank you for supporting Plush Beauty Bar, Zoya and Hopscotch Kids products, the California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative, and the communities who promote health for all.
We are honored to have so many supportive and conscientious customers.
Sincerely,
Plush Beauty Bar
